Ken Bridges Audio Video, Inc. has been in business as a family owned company for well over 50 years. It's heritage dates to Ken Bridges Sr. and Harold Griffith who formed the original HarKen company which was located on Leopard St. in the present parking lot of Buccaneer Stadium.

In the beginning the firm repaired tape recorders (which were new then), dealt in closed circuit television, nurse call systems in hospitals, broadcast network, and portable sound systems. Through the years, the firm has been known under several names, but has always kept the association with the Bridges family. It has dealt with educational products of all kinds from overhead projectors, 35mm projectors, printed material for schools, language learning labs, and many other types of educational products.

When the prospect of affordable videotape and the general video revolution came along, KBAV was right in there with the first tape machines and cameras, marketing the to schools all over South Texas. High quality sound has always been a desire of the few 'audiophiles' which were around. The introduction of solid state electronics and good high power amplifiers made this a viable extension to KBAV technology. With the computer revolution and the introduction of digital signal processing, along with research into basic qualities of speaker-driver units came the very real area of high quality sound in the large venue. This is where we are today.

Ken C. Bridges (Jr.) has been at the helm of the firm for the past twenty years, and has been actively involved with his company on a day to day basis.
